Hughes SpringsFuneral services for David Lee “Big Dave” Hensley, 41, of Longview, 1 p.m. Friday at Murray League Baptist Church in Ore City, with Bishop James Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery near Ore City under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born August 6, 1965, to Lessie Seward Hensley and the late Joseph Hensley in Jefferson, Texas. He attended Ore City and Jefferson public schools. He was a Class A welder at Trinity Rails, Inc. Industry for 22 years. He was a member of Murray League Baptist Church where he joined in holy matrimony Sharon Morton. To this union two children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife Sharon, two sons Deshaun and Montreal and one grand daughter, all of Longview; mother Lessie Hensley of Ore City, three sisters Jessica Hensley of Ore City, Vanessa Parker (Algie) and Meredythe Bluitt (Stephen), both of Longview; his mother-in-law Thelma Morton of Hughes Springs; six sisters-in-law Betty, Patricia (Junior Role), Karita, Tiffany, Teresa, and Y’Kevia Morton; two brothers-in-law Damian and Victor Morton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all who loved him very much. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU. REMEMBER THE GOD NEVER MAKES A MISTAKE. KNOWING DAVID, HE UPSTAIRS TELLING FUNNY JOKES AND STORIES TO THOSE WHO WERE WAIT FOR HIM. I REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM, WE SURPRISE HIM WITH KENT WHO HE HAD NOT SEEN IN YEARS, THE EMOTIONS ARE FORVER INGRAINED IN MY MIND AND HEART. HE IS A PEACE. GONE TOO SOON, BUT FOREVER REMEMBERED.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I used to see David pulling out of Trinity from time to time as I drove home and always thought of Montreal when he was my little 1st grader. Take care and God bless and keep you.
