David Lee Dobbs, 70, of Daingerfield, joined our Lord on January 29, 2015 in Tyler, Texas. He was born November 3, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas to John B. and Hazel (Utt) Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Duane Dobbs; and sister, Dorothy Clingingsmith. He was a graduate of McCloud High School in California, New York Institute of Photography and Liberty University Institution of Biblical Studies. There was not anything he set his mind to that he didnt do. He worked as an electrician, professional drummer, a mechanic and service manager at Holms Pontiac and Mercedes Benz in Shreveport. His most prized job was working at Hughes Springs Elementary School. He was a Scout Master for Troop 66 in Hughes Springs. These boys have always held a special place in his heart. On November 6, 1970 he married the love of his life Margaret Hopkins. He is survived by his wife; four children, Brian and Tosha Dobbs of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Tami Dobbs, John Dobbs, and Cassie and Jason Rhyne, all of Daingerfield; eight grandchildren, David Dobbs, Shonn Dobbs, Callie Dobbs, Thomas Green, Trisha Dobbs, Bradley Rhyne, Kolby Green, and MaiCee Rhyne. He was a faithful member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was able to do what he loved by running the sound board. He made his home there and loved his church family. Funeral services for Mr. Dobbs will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at South Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

  4. Words can't describe the sadness of hearing your gone Mr.David. I have known you since I was in Junior High. You will be missed more then you know. I'm glad your pain & discomfort are now. Now we all have to deal with our own. You touched many lives & will be missed.

  5. Dear Dobbs Family, I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss of Mr. Dobbs. I had the privilege of coming to know Mr. And Mrs Dobbs durning their stay at ETMC specialty hospital in Tyler. I cannot begin to tell you how honored I am to have had the oppurtunity to get to know Mr.Dobbs. He and his wife are the reason I enjoy my job, to get to know such wonderful people and to do what I can to comfort them in their time of need. He will always be in my heart and his family on my mind during this troubling time. I'm also very glad to know that Mr. Dobbs is a fellow believer in Christ and his eternity is secure with our Lord. Dear Mrs. Dobbs, I pray for your healing and comfort. Your love and devotion to you husband is something I witnessed every evening I spent with the both of you and I loved to watch your love for eachother fill the tiny room.
