Dois Simpson

Services for Dois Simpson, 90, of Hughes Springs will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Veal Switch Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Veal Switch Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 7 until 8:30 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Dois Clayton Simpson and his twin sister, Dolly were born July 17, 1926 in Cooper, Texas to Elmer and Bertha Simpson and raised by grandparents, Granville and Malinda Lyles. He passed away March 13, 2017. Dois was an Army veteran, having served in WWII where he was awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Dois was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Irene Simpson; daughter, Virginia Diane Simpson Forrest; siblings, Earline Bailey, Harvey Simpson, Dolly Wallace, Jim Simpson, and Bud Simpson.
He is survived by four children, Brenda Simpson of Daingerfield, Randy Simpson and wife Sandy of Kennedale, Lesia Maxey and husband Jimmy of Ft. Worth, Gary Simpson and wife Billie of Daingerfield; brother, Rick Simpson; and sister, Johnnie Hunter; grandchildren, Joel Quantock of Houston, Bobby Morris and wife Tiana of Hughes Springs, Jason Simpson of Kennedale, Tabitha Travers and husband Brandon of Crowley, Jimmy Maxey, Jr. and wife Kelly of Ft. Worth, Alyssa Maxey of Ft. Worth, Ashley Simpson of Daingerfield, Shelby Simpson of Tyler; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
I am sorry for your loss: Until you see Mr. Simpson again, (John 5:28, 29) may you cherish your memories of him. Almighty God promises at Jeremiah 31:13, "’I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow." and all of God’s promises come true.
My deepest sympathy to each of you on the passing of your dad. He was a wonderful person here on earth and a fantastic addition to Heaven. May God’s peace be with you all.
