Doris Adams

Doris Barnard Adams was born November 19, 1931 in Daingerfield, Texas and passed away on December 30, 2017. She graduated from Daingerfield ISD. After marrying Curtis Adams, she moved to the Concord Community between Hughes Springs and Linden. She was a devoted housewife and mother. She loved to cook. Being the oldest of seven children, learned to cook for her siblings at an early age. Some of her family’s favorite dishes were her “spaghetti” and sausage balls. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and growing flowers. She was a member of the Red Radiance Garden Club. Doris was an member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was active in Bible School. She spent the last year at Windsor Place Nursing Home where she made many special friends, including Marilyn, Judy, Ms. Milo, and Valarie. The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Place for the love and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Curtis Adams; parents, O.B. and Zella Barnard; sisters, Ruby Pearson and Wilma Upchurch.
She is survived by son, Billy Paul Adams and wife Jeannie of Hughes Springs; daughter, Jenny Lynn Rust and husband Gary of Longview; four grandchildren, Kenneth Lynn Rust and wife Jennifer, Clint Rust and wife Jonna, Joel Windham and wife Michelle, and Jessica Ramsey and husband Rustin; great-grandchildren, Gracie Lynn Rust and Curtis Paul Rust, Will Windham, Payton Windham, Brock Windham, Jaxson Ramsey, and Falyn Ramsey; brother, Pete Barnard and wife Nikki; three sisters, Jeanette Douglas, Vanita Morris and husband Bill, Pam Smith and husband Ronny; sister-in-law, Velma Adams; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services for Doris Adams, 86, of Hughes Springs will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2018 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
We just heard of Doris passing. She was a wonderful beautiful person and will be missed by many. Our prayers and condolences to the family.
