Hughes Springs, Tx Dorris Harris, 84 of Hughes Springs, Tx passed away Wednesday September. 2, 2015 in Theron Grainger Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Harris was born Sept. 16, 1930 in Walker Creek, Ark. She was a homemaker and owner of Harris & Harris Real Estate and Mini Storage, Charter Member and Treasurer of Calvary Baptist Church, Hughes Springs Chamber of Commerce and Texas Realtor Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Harris; parents, Guy and Lucy Higdon; son, Monte Harris; and sister, Cleo Gaulden. Survivors include one son and daughter-in- law, Bo and Debbie Harris of Hughes Springs, Tx.; three sisters, Shirley Haire and Diane Fletcher of Lewisville, Ark. and Wanda Chesshir of Taylor, Ark.; two brothers, Marion Higdon of McNeil, Ark. and Wayne Higdon of Taylor, Ark.; grandchildren, Chris and Summer Harris of Hot Springs, Ark., Stephanie and Joey Wright of Longview, Tx, Beau Stagner, of Arkansas, Courtney and Davey Pendley of Hughes Springs, Tx., Ashley and Justin Barton of Bryans Mill, Tx., and Brandon Harris of Rockwall, Tx.; and 15 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday Sept. 3, from 6 until 8 pm. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Neeley and Dan Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under direction of Reeder Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. Doris was such a sweet, kind and loving lady, who had an infectious laugh. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Where do I begin? MeMe Doris was a VERY special lady to me and my family! She supported our 24 year ministry at Calvary in every way!
