Dreka Onita Brown

dreka brown
Dreka Onita Smith Brown was born July 14, 1963 in Upshur County, Gilmer, Texas and passed away July 23, 2016. She was raised to the proud, Christian parentage of Windell and Verna Smith, a loving father and mother. Her whole family, the Jones, the Evans, and the Smiths adored, and cherished her both as a child and an adult. She seemed to have a special spirit for attracting people, and a heart as big as the sky for giving and helping.

She attended J.J. Rhodes Elementary and Daingerfield High School. She was baptized into Christianity at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church, and remained a cheerful giver whenever called upon.

She married Charles Pendleton and to this union, two children were born, DeAndrea and Shantrel.

On July 14, 1993 she married Lloyd Brown.

She was devoted to the craft of being a very dainty and well coordinated housewife, and with everything she possessed, from cars to clothes, to her own well grooming. She loved life.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memory, a loving and devoted husband, Lloyd E. Brown of Naples; three beautiful children, Deandre Pendleton of Daingerfield, Shontrel Pendleton of Hooks, and Dwakica Booker Hope of Daingerfield; two loving, wonderful parents, Windell and Verna Smith of Daingerfield; two lifelong, devoted brothers, Dennis Smith of Daingerfield and Robert Willie (Solanda) Smith of Arlington; a half sister, CeeCee Evans of Dallas; a half brother, Luther Evans of Linden; a close special cousin (like a sibling), Donald Quilla Fisher of Daingerfield; a true and loving uncle, M.J. Jones of Dallas; eleven grandchildren; also, a large roster of nieces, nephews, and cousins; a list of friends and acquaintances that would seem to fill a metro phone book. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed.

Services for Mrs. Brown will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Brown will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
