Funeral Services for Edgar Allen Knox, 88 of Diana, will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 22, 2014 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Ore City. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Ore City. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Knox was born September 30, 1926 and passed away November 18, 2014. Edgar A. Knox was born in Harleton, Texas on September 30, 1926 to the late Jim and Emma Knox. In 1948 he married Earnestine Crockett, and to this union five daughters were born. Proceeded him in death were; A daughter and a son -in- law, Paul and Lena Derrick; a daughter Lajean Knox and a brother Robert Knox. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and served the church faithfully until his health failed. He received his education from the Harrison County Public School System. He enlisted in the United States Army September 17, 1945, and served his country until he was honorably discharged February 25, 1947. Mr. Knox was employed at Lone Star Steel for many years until he retired. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 66 years Earnestine Knox of Diana; 3 daughters, Fayrene Knox and Lorene Knox of Diana and Luvenia Beck of Gilmer; 1 brother J.D. Knox and wife Patricia of Marshall; 3 sisters Bessie, Darlene, and Genell Knox all of Marshall; 2 grandchildren Paul Wayne Derrick Jr. of Diana and Nina Shantae Derrick of Plano; 1 sister- in- law Baby Jean Crockett of Ore City and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

My sympathies for Edgar to all the family. Edgar was a fine man, a good neighbor to myself and my family growing up on Davidson Rd-actually property joining New Prospect cemetery. My mother was Neva Nell Baker, and she always spoke highly of Edgar and entire family. God bless.
