Eldie Tassin Smith of Linden, TX, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 from a brain aneurism. Mrs. Smith was born in Mansura, LA on September 8, 1950 and was 63 years old at the time of her death. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ella Guillory Tassin and the late Charles Tassin. She is preceded in death by her sister, Janella Tassin Moyers of Raceland, LA. Survivors include her daughter Melanie Smith of Denver, CO.; four sisters, Audrey Tassin of New Orleans, LA, Charlene Tassin of Mandeville, LA, Lorraine Tassin of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl, Penny Tassin (Jerry Cureton) of Linden, Tx and her much loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Linden United Methodist Church in Linden. A gathering for family and friends will be held in Chalmette, LA at a later date. Interment will be at The St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette, LA at a later date.
