Ellen Jean Walker was born January 1, 1940 to Bobbie Lee and Odie James Arthur in Morris County, Texas.  She was later adopted by her Aunt Leola Turner.  Ellen married Floyd Walker in January 1958 and into this union three children were born; one preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son Eldret Walker (Pam) of Omaha, TX; daughter Alfreda Lyons of Omaha, TX; two grandsons Montral Walker (Tasha) of Medlothia, TX, Arntral Walker of Omaha, TX; one great-grandson Jordan Walker (J.T.) of Pittsburg, TX; three brothers James Arthur of Dallas, TX, Daniel R. Arthur (Mary) of Omaha, TX, Michael Arthur (Martha Ann) of Omaha, TX; eight sisters Linda Pleasant of Omaha, TX, Barbara Curtis of Cason, TX, Lutricia Peters of Cason, TX, Judy Watson (Bobby) of Jefferson, TX, James Etta Boyd of Dallas, TX, Patricia Brown and Drucilla Vealsey both of Hughes Springs, TX, Cometha Williams (Shelton) of Omaha, TX; one aunt, Lillie and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, friends and a special friend Flora James.

Services for Ellen Walker will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Daingerfield-Lone Star High School Auditorium.

Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

There will be a time of visitation from 12 until 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the funeral home for family and friends to view and sign the registry.

  4. I met this sweet lady in 1971 and officially spring of 1972 when our father Gene Rowe Sr became the minister of Mt Mitchell Church of Christ and we were next door neighbors.
