Elois Kennedy

elois kennedy

Elois Kennedy was born on September 26, 1931 in Bright Star, Arkansas, to Sam and Cecil Lundy.  Mrs. Kennedy passed away on July 28, 2020 at the age of 88.  She was a twin to her sister, Etoil and had two brothers, Olin and Adrian.  Elois and Etoil were inseparable and loved puppies.  They would rather have a puppy to play with than a doll.  Through the years, they loved spending time with each other.  While still a young girl, her family moved to Bloomburg, Texas.  It was here she met the love of her life, Emit Carol Kennedy.  They were married on April 25, 1952 and later moved to Dallas where Elois found the Bronco Bowl and discovered she had a talent for bowling.  She won many awards and kept her bowling points in the upper 200's.  Emit and Elois moved one last time to Hughes Springs.  She and Emit loved to ride horses (more so Emit than Elois, but hey! She loved him).  They went on many a trail ride and camping trip.  Elois said her greatest achievement in life, aside from accepting the Lord, was that she had all of her real teeth.  Elois loved beautiful teeth with a beautiful smile; and she is now smiling her beautiful smile with her beautiful teeth in the presence of God. Elois was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Emit Carol Kennedy; parents, Sam and Cecil Lundy; her oldest brother, Olin Lundy, and her first born son, Ricky Carol Kennedy.

She is survived by her son, Randy Kennedy and wife Delores; her daughter, Rhonda Watson and husband, Gary; sister, Etoil Pyle; brother, Adrian Lundy; four grandchildren, Erin Lagile, Brie Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy, Andy Watson; three great-grandchildren, Seth, Cole and Jacquelyn Kennedy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday July 30, 2020 at Salem Cemetery in Bloomburg, Texas under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.

  12. To Rhonda and Randy, and all your family members, you have my sympathy on your loss of a wonderful Mom and Grandmother. Elois was my beautiful friend and neighbor. She adored each of you and talked about you in every conversation we ever had. She also seemed to enjoy hearing about our children, who she watched grow up from across the street. She befriended our pets and was always there to call on if we needed anything. I loved how she and her twin enjoyed one another. I will miss her! May God Bless you all!
