Services for Mr. Everett Royal of Hughes Springs, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Mr. Royal was born September 25, 1925 and passed away February 27, 2016. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He concerted with Love Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member there until his death.
Everett married Florence Marie Edwards of Hughes Springs and to this union seven children were born.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe Everett Royal; three brothers, Dempsey, Warren Gene, and Clinton Royal.
Mr. Royal leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Florence Marie Edwards Royal; six children, Janice (A.D., Jr.) Edwards of Ft. Worth, Nina (Gregory, Sr.) Phillips of Raytown, Missouri, Phyllis Royal-Brown of Ft. Worth, Ladonna Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri, Coach Nelwyn Royal of Hughes Springs, and Timothy Royal of Hughes Springs; one sister, Armie Lee Wade of Sulphur Springs; one bother, James (Barbara) Denmark of Longview; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; special cousins, Junior Pete Royal and Leroy Hawkins; special friends, Alvoid Walker, Sr., Luther Walton, Red Montgomery, R.C. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

I miss our times together when we would be out in the shed eating, laughing, watching television, talking politics your favorite subject (lol) and watching Maw sleeping, talking about the days of old. My heart hurt is so badly because I am missing you soooo. We poke fun about you and Maw in heaven and her telling you to stop talking sooo much and you don’t meet a stranger. Never goodbye.
