Fannie Mary Verner, age 72, of Ore City, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025.

Fannie was born on November 2, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to J.T. Abron and Arthic Jewel Davis Abron. She attended Duncan High School in Ore City, Texas. After graduating, she married Napolean “Pete” Verner, and from this union, a beloved son, Daniel Verner, was born.

A faithful member of the Church of Christ, Fannie lived her life rooted in love, faith, and kindness. She worked for many years in healthcare. She most recently worked for Elara Caring Home Health, where she extended her nurturing spirit to those in need until her health no longer allowed.

Fannie was a devoted mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone she encountered. She had a unique way of making others feel seen and loved, and her home and heart were always open.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.T. Abron; her sister, Janice Abron; and her son, Daniel Verner.

Fannie leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. She is survived by her mother, Arthic Jewel Abron of Ore City, Texas; her son, Jerry Bruce Jr. of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Torgie Anderson of Longview, Texas, and Shequilia Verner of Ore City, Texas; brothers, Cecil Abron and J.T. Abron Jr. (Sacanda), both of Ore City, and Michael Abron of Dallas; sisters, Patricia Ann Abron of Ore City, Lucy Hutchins (Roy) of Gilmer, Shirley Andrews of Dallas, Evangelean Jones of Ore City, Beverly Abron of Gilmer, Amanda Daniels (Charles) of Gilmer, and Frances Abron of Dallas.

She also leaves behind grandchildren, Tiabony Bruce of Tyler, Texas, Jamal Anderson (Daniele Scheidemantle) of Forney, Texas, Moriah Anderson of Lone Star, Texas, Malachi Johnson of Ore City, Texas, and Jaydence Verner of Ore City, Texas; great-grandchildren, Sa’Riah Anderson, LaKinzi Brown, Trinitee Biggs, Marley Anderson, and Noah Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of Ms. Fannie Mary Verner’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Gilmer, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Coffeeville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Ms. Verner will lie in state on Friday, April 25, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
