Francis Marie "Tennie" Hatten, 89, of Avinger, Texas was the last of her generation in our family, entered the gates of Heaven on April 20, 2020.  Ms. Hatten was born January 23, 1931 in Columbia, Louisiana to Jack and Jessie Cossey.

Teenie was an LVN nurse who retired from Summer Meadow's Nursing Home.  She loved taking care of older people and they loved her for it.  She loved her kids, grandkids, loved to read her bible and she loved her two dogs, Mary Kate and Anna Lee. When the two dogs heard her wake in the morning they immediately went to her bed and Mary Kate, the small one jumped on the bed with her and Anna Lee, the 101 pound pit bull would lay his head on her bed until she rubbed his head and then they were satisfied.  Teenie, as she was called by all her family and friends, was a jack of all trades.  If she wanted to do it she did it.  She loved to finish old furniture; loved tending to her birds; loved to work in her yard, flower beds, garden and loved to sit our by her fish pond.  Her son Jerry lived with her the last few years and they took care of each other whether it was doing household chores, working in the garden or cleaning the fish pond.  Teenie mentioned many times her appreciation to Chastity and Trish for taking off work and taking her to her doctor appointments and helping her when she needed them.  They were always just a phone call away and they are much loved for helping her.

She is survived by her two sons, Gene and Jerry Hatten; daughers-in-law, Janice Hatten, Shelby Hatten, Trish Hatten and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jessie Cossey; husband, Alfred Hatten; sons, Lotus Andrew Hatten, Earl Wayne Hatten, Dennis Elton Hatten; sisters, Janette (Cooter) Howard, Jackie Weeks and nephews, Kevin and Eric Weeks.
