Franklin Washington

Funeral services for George Franklin Washington, 73, of Linden will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Linden with Bros. Charles Russell and Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home of Linden. Mr. Washington died Friday, October 20, 2006 in a Shreveport, Louisiana, hospital. Mr. Washington was born May 14, 1933 in Cass County, Texas. He had lived in the area all his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Linden where he was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School class and a Mason. He was self employed after his retirement from Lone Star Steel Company. He is survived by his wife, Frances Washington of Linden; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Debra Washington of Linden; two daughters and sons-in law, Gayle and Gary Stewart of Atlanta, and Sharron and Ricky Allen of Linden. Also, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Delton and Pat Washington of Atlanta, and Milton and Stella Washington of Linden; and a sister, Jewel Faye Fort of Jefferson; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
