George Davis

Deacon George Davis was born April 5, 1914 to the late Will and Candis Davis in Cason, Texas. He attended Rosewall Public School in Cason. He accepted Christ at an early age. Mr. Davis was a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board for a number of years. He was joined in holy matrimony to Ruby T. Woods and to this union five children were born. He served in the US Army World War II. He was a faithful employee of Lone Star Steel for 28 years until his retirement. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife: Ruby Davis of Cason; five children Patricia Edwards, Ethel Fomby, and Elaine Moody all of Columbus, OH; Linda Johnson of Longview and Willie Glenn Davis of Cason; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister Lucille Davis.
