Services for Gertie Faye Anderson, 72, of Lone Star, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Ore City. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Anderson will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. 

       On October 28, 1945, Gertie Fay Anderson was born in Ore City, Texas to the parentage of John Henry and Annie Mae Anderson. She passed away on February 23. 2018 in Longview, Texas at Good Shepherd Medical Center.  She attended school at Duncan High School and   later graduated from Valley View.

       She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Anderson; and sister, Zohelen Jimmerson.

       She is survived by two daughters, Rachel (Delane) Anderson Holloman of Hughes Springs and Felicia Anderson of Lone Star; four sons, Johnny (Cameshia) Anderson, Anthony Anderson of Longview, Carl (Shari)   Anderson of Lone Star, Sammuel (Holli) Anderson of Gilmer; four sisters, Minnie Armstrong of Garland, Juanita Rodgers of Ore City, Mattie F. Jimmerson of Lone Star, Vivian (Adolphus) Mathis of Long Beach, California; special sister-in-law, Maxine Anderson of Gilmer, Texas; two adopted “grandkids”, Dekevione and DeKendric Anderson of Lone Star, Texas;  34 grandkids; 20 great-grandkids; and a host of nieces,    nephews, other relatives and friends.

  5. I know it is hard to say goodbye, but we have to realize it is not the end because she will never be forgotten by those who was so near to her. May the Holy Spirit give you strength to carry on.
