Services for Marion Glenn Traylor, 75 of Hughes Springs, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening.
Mr. Traylor was born December 2, 1940 and passed away January 20, 2016. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs, and he was also a man of many trades, past President Cass County Farm Bureau and former board member; past President of Cass County Cattle Association, graduate of Texas AM Commerce with a masters in business; former teacher and coach for Rains and Hughes Springs High Schools; past judge of Houston Livestock Show, he won area and second in state for land judging in FFA; in 1997 he was a winner of Cass County Farm Family of the year; he was also a lifetime cattleman. He loved telling stories about his childrens and grandchildren's accomplishments.
Mr. Traylor is preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Hazel Traylor ; and sister, Donna Beasley.
Mr. Traylor is survived by his daughter, Pam and husband, Russ Hall of Hughes Springs; son, Todd and wife, Tara Traylor of Hughes Springs; grandchildren Alecia and husband, Michael Green, Amber and husband, Jason Boyett, Bryce and wife, Leslie Watkins, T.J. and wife, Kristen Traylor, Cody Traylor, and Dustin Traylor; great-grandchildren, Anna and Maddie Green, Hagen and Kelton Boyett, Adisyn and Drew Watkins, and Mason Motley; sister, Toni Jenkins; special friend, Teresa Spencer; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's or First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care given by the staff and Dr. Nirmal at Texas Oncology in Longview.

  2. Wonderful man who taught me so much during my teen years. Modeled a work ethic and had an extensive knowledge of ranching and cattle. Fondest memory was him asking my opinion even though I was just a young man.

  3. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Glenn was an amazing and funny man. Our holiday table will not be the same without his smile and laughter as he shakes his empty tea glass. He will be greatly missed.

  9. We are terribly sorry for your loss. We have only had the pleasure of knowing him for a year but we definitely love him. Hes a great man and will be missed terribly!
