Services for Gloria Ruth Holloman, 82, of Hughes Springs will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Love Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Love Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Ms. Holloman will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Gloria Ruth Hollman was born November 1, 1941 to the late Edward and Ivy Smith of Naples, Texas. She received Christ at an early age at the Methodist Church in Naples, Texas. Gloria received her education in Hughes Springs, Texas and graduated from Traylor High School. Gloria met and fell in love with a handsome man names Homer Patrick Holloman, they were united in holy matrimony on April 1, 1960. To this union, they had seven children; six boys and one daughter.Β Gloria had multiple jobs, such as working at Pilgrims Pride, Cox Relish in Daingerfield, and a box factory in Atlanta, Texas. Gloria was a member of Love Chapel Baptist Church and was a member of the Heroines of Jericho.
Gloria will be reunited with her husband, Homer Holloman; parents, Edward and Ivy Smith; daughter, Debra Holloman; sister, and Eddie Ruth Shaway.
She leaves to cherish her memory: six boys, Ricky Holloman, Homer Holloman, Jr., Carl Holloman, Delwin Holloman, Delane Holloman (Rachel), all of Hughes Springs, and Kenneth Holloman (Tonya) of Daingerfield; sister, Willie Joyce Roney; three sisters-in-law, Carla Mayshack, Tenna (Ray) Tatum, Lawanda (Wade) Edwards; two brothers-in-law, Matthew Rogers, Napoleon Rogers; special niece, Sylvia Williams; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Iβll miss our talks aunt Glo β¦ May you rest in paridise β¦ save me some chicken and hot sauce β¦ Love you big mama β¦.
We at Fresenius Medical Care loved Mrs. Holloman she was our granny; she would set us straight if we weren’t right and didn’t mind telling you. If I missed work when I came back, she would say who told you to take off Alice you know we need you here. She was a sweet and wonderful and truly an awesome lady. We will miss her patients and staff she was everybody granny. Rest on Granny we loved you, but God love you best. Love you from your Kidney Care Family.

Praying that God will strengthen you during the loss of your love one. I had the opportunity to talk with Gloria at the last Traylor High School Reunion, she looked so pretty. I will always remember her quick, warm and loving smile. To her son’s, continue to trust God for he will comfort you during this difficult time.
You have my sincere condolences on the loss of Mrs. Holloman, who must have been a wonderful Mama, because she had wonderful sons, including those I had in school and Carl, who I respect highly for the many things he’s done for the community.
