Gloria Jane Smithson, age 66 of Ore City, passed away October 27, 2013 at a Longview hospital. She was born August 9, 1947 in Bellville, Texas. She was preceded in death by husband, John Robert Smithson; her parents, Benjamin and Joan Beckendorff; and brother, Wayne Beckendorff. Mrs. Smithson is survived by her sons: John Marek, David Marek (Sandra), Thomas Gober (Josie), Robert Smithson (Catherine); grandchildren: Amanda Marek, Eric Marek, Allen Gober, Alder Smithson. There will be a memorial gathering at the family home on Wednesday October 30, 2013, beginning at 4p.m. The family requests that no flowers be sent.

Gloria is my cousin and she will be missed; and the hearts of her children and grandchildren will greive. Prayers for God's peace as she soars with the angels now.
We have shared some wonderful memories in the past. One day we will all meet in heaven and relive them. We miss you and love you so very much.
You were not only a fun and wonderfull person and a great friend we grew up with your children I had the pleasure to coach your grandchild in baseball you will be greatly missed. We love you all. rest in peace baby
