Harold Benson Foster, 81, died February 5, 2019 in a local hospital.  Services will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating and a reception following in the Family Life Center. 

He was born March 11, 1937 in Mineral Wells, grew up in Marshall, Texas and graduated from both Marshall High School and The University of Texas at Austin.  He was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher of First Baptist Church Hughes Springs for 28 years and then at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Hellon Foster; and daughter-in-law, Grace Foster.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billye Faye Foster; his son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Lisa Foster of Forney, his son Dan Foster of Austin, his son and daughter-in-law, David and Kristine Foster of Austin; his six grandchildren, Cade, Cole, Sarah, Jason, Joshua and Luke; his two brothers, Jerry Foster and Ronnie Foster; his three sisters, Veneida Hudson, Sharon Cornelius, and Charlotte Woodfin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Marietta or The Salvation Army.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. When I think of Harold, his BIG smile immediately comes to mind. I know he leaves a big void. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. He was a wonderful Christian role model for me and many.
