HUGHES SPRINGS- Services for Harold Leroy Honea, 83, of Daingerfield, will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday , February 1, 2012 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Tim Gibbs and Norman Miller officiating. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 3, 2012 at Hayes Grace Memorial Park in Santa Fe, TX. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the funeral home. Mr. Honea was born August 9, 1928 in Morris County, TX and passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at a Longview hospice facility. Harold was a master carpenter, owned a cabinet business, and taught school. He had a green thumb and loved to garden. Mr. Honea is survived by his wife Pearl Polly Honea, of Daingerfield; two daughters, Debbie and son-in-law Sam Jenkins, of Texas City, TX, and Patty Elizondo, of League City, TX; one son Dan and daughter-in-law Debbie Honea of Texas City , TX; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special dog, Lilly.

Polly, mom, Aunt Patty, and Uncle Dan- I am so sorry for your loss. Poppy was a wonderful man. He was the greatest grandpa ever. I will miss him, as I am sure we all will. We are so lucky to have had him in our lives, and for that I am eternally grateful! I love you Poppy Bub!!!

So sorry for your loss. He was a man of character–kind,thoughtful, and generous. Every time we saw him, he had a twinkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. He will be missed.
Tom and I made certain to see our beloved uncle in December because we knew he would soon be with my mom, Edith, Sue, Anne and Granny and Papa. And he's there.
