Harold Wayne Penny, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away on May 31, 2023. Harold was born September 23, 1963 to Earl and Cornelia Penny. Harold grew up in Linden, Texas. He was a truck driver for many years, worked in construction, and later worked in the oil field where he retired as Superintendent in 2020. He was a great man who never met a stranger. He loved spending time with family. His grandsons were the light in his life and there is no recalled moment of his ever telling them “no” to anything.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Earl Penny; and mother, Cornelia Penny. He is survived by his wife, Angie Penny of Daingerfield; son, Cody Penny of Daingerfield; daughter, Britiny and son-in-law Jason Morgan of Mt. Pleasant; and youngest daughter, Heather Penny of Daingerfield; three grandsons, who were his world, Bryson, Laiken, and Ethan; his godson, Jessie Golightly of Marietta; brother, Steve Penny and wife, Beri of Hughes Springs; sister, Suzie Strickland of Centerville, Tennessee; “the boss”, his weenie dog, Buddy; many nieces and nephews; and a countless number of friends he considered family.

Services for Mr. Penny will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs.
