Herman Bodwell

Funeral services for Herman A. Bodwell, 92, of Avinger, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in the Chapel at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Erwin Gould officiating. Burial followed at Pruitt Lake Cemetery. Mr. Bodwell will lie in state Monday May 4, 2009. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Mr. Bodwell died May 02, 2009 at a hospital in Longview. He was born February 2, 1917, in Oklahoma. He was a Baptist and a past President with the Chamber of Commerce in Winterset, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Ophelia Peggy Bodwell of Avinger; one son and daughter-in-law Danny Boyd and Victoria Bodwell of Los Angeles, CA.; One daughter Rae Jeanean Bodwell of Albuquerque, NM.; 3 brothers and sister-in-laws, Wallace and Katy Bodwell of Bailey, CO; Robert and Mary Bodwell of Avinger and Rev. S.D. and Barbara Bodwell of Avinger; one sister, Marilyn Driscoll of Englewood, CO. two grandchildren Benjamin Bodwell and Methuen Nagatani; and numerous nieces and nephews.
