Houston Alvis

LINDEN TX Vivian Houston Alvis, 99, of Texarkana, formerly of Linden, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Texarkana. He was born August 27, 1914, in Cass County, Texas to Thomas H. and Matilda Kehr Alvis. He was retired from Cass County Health Department where we was health inspector. He served 20 years in the Air Force during WWII and Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Frances Alvis of Texarkana; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Cindy Alvis of Colleyville; one grandson, Austin Alvis; one granddaughter, Hayley Alvis and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Karen Alvis. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden with Bro. Doug Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery.
