Ila Christine Wetuski

December 26, 1929 ~ August 23, 2022
Ila Christine Wetuski, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, school counselor, friend, very peacefully went to her eternal heavenly home, at the age of 92, on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at her cottage in Linden, Texas. She was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on December 26, 1929, and was preceded in death by her husband, David Wetuski, her father, Hubbard Cooper Frost, her mother, Ila Glayds Ellis Logan, and her brother, Calvin S. Frost.
Christine, or Sugar as many called her, spent many years doing exactly what she wanted to do. She spent 30 years as an educator in the Pasadena Independent School District. Mrs. Wetuski, as she was called by her students, taught math and later became a school counselor at Dolbie High School in Pasadena, Texas. She had a passion for teaching and helping students receive scholarships to further their education. Christine loved to travel. She would go on tours around the United States and Europe. While living in Pasadena, she faithfully attended her Christian Church, bringing them donuts every Sunday.
After moving to Linden, she enjoyed the fellowship 5 times a week attending activities at the Mary Daugherty Senior Citizen Building, which included exercising, playing bingo, and eating lunch. On Sunday, she attended the laws Chapel Methodist Church, which she dearly loved her church family.
Christine will be forever cherished by her family: her children, Hattie Sue Roberts and husband Dennis, and Robbie Wetuski Culpepper and husband John; her grandchildren, Copie Denise Moore and husband Jeff, Lane David Roberts and wife Tiffany, Travis John Culpepper and wife Liz, Taylor Culpepper Barnum and husband Robert, and Brant Wetuski Roberts; her great-grandchildren Sadie Sue Moore, Kalysa Gem Roberts, Owen Culpepper, Janie Mae Roberts, Layla Alayne Roberts, David Barnum, and Morgan Barnum; her special nephew Patrick Frost and his family, her rescue dog, Petunia.
Christine requested no services. She lived by this verse from a poem, “burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow.”
In lieu of flowers, please donate to any scholarship fud in memory of Christine Wetuski. The one dear to her heart is the Jim Strickland Scholarship Fund, Care of Hattie Roberts (3749 CR 1132, Linden, TX 75563).
