Jacquelyn “Jackie, Sister” Goodson, 87, of Hughes Springs, was born June 10, 1935 in Lassater, Texas to W. O. and Elsie Pyland Witt. She passed away November 26, 2022.

Jackie married Robert Goodson on October 23, 1954 in Biloxi, Mississippi. They spent almost 66 beautiful years together before his passing in 2020.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hughes Springs.  Jackie loved to play bridge, dominoes and card games with her grandchildren. She spent her career working at General Dynamics, Hughes Springs Middle School, Florence Attorney, T&N Warehouse, Corn Dog 7, and First National Bank of Hughes Springs. 
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Goodson; son, Bob Goodson; granddaughter, Annie McGrew; brother, Joby Witt.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Goodson and wife Jennifer, Joni Hatfield and husband Rick; grandchildren: Jeremy Goodson and wife Katie, Hollye Jolley and husband Kevin, Adam Duck and wife Crystal, Brian Goodson and wife Robyn, Shelly Walker, Austin McGrew and wife Meagan, Abby Alford and husband Logan; great-grandchildren, Parker Goodson, Riley Goodson, Jack Goodson, Langston Jolley, Colton Duck, Kylee Duck, Waylon Goodson, Mason Goodson, Mattilyn Walker, Kaysen Walker, Oliver McGrew, Tyler Alford, and Christian Alford; sister, Glenda Lockaby and husband Carl. 
Jackie was a very kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left a lasting impression and will be missed by many. 
Funeral services for Jackie will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. Burial to follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

  4. I worked with Mrs. Jackie for several years at FNBHS. She was always such a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. She is in the arms of Jesus Christ now, happy as could be. Condolences to her family. She will be greatly missed.
