During a five year period, Jimmy enjoyed coaching Pee Wee and Little League in Lone Star, winning two pennants and a field day. Several of his team members made the All Stars. This team played and won the game in front of honored guest, Casey Stengel. Jimmy had been an active member of the South Union Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon since 1953. His retirement years were spent in Daingerfield, Longview and Rockwall, Texas.
