James Clell Roberts

James Clell Roberts, 95, of Linden passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home. Mr. Roberts was born April 4, 1924 in Pittsburg, Texas to Herman Roberts and Copie Russell Roberts. He was a deacon of New Colony Baptist Church, was a Veteran of World War II and retired from Lone Star Steel.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Christine Chamblee Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Roberts; his children, Jimmy and Colette Roberts, Dennis and Hattie Roberts, Darrell and Pam Roberts, Judy and Pete Allen all of Linden; grandchildren, Clint and Jennifer Roberts, Jamee Quaid, Copie and Jeff Moore, Misty and Jason Washburn, Lane and Tiffany Roberts, Marcus Roberts, Brant Roberts, Cole Roberts, Christina Roberts; eleven great-grandchildren, Trent and Brady Roberts, Jacee Quaid, Sadie Sue Moore, Marti, Chris, J.J. and Rhea Washburn, Kalyssa Gem, Janie Mae and Layla Roberts.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at New Colony Baptist Church with Bro. Claude Crocker and Bro. Michael Roberts officiating. Burial to follow in the New Colony Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
