James Edward Works, 80, of Jefferson, TX passed away January 8, 2019.  Mr. Works was born January 29, 1938 in Mesquite, TX to Loyal Edward Works and Emma Louise Works.  James was a Deacon in the Baptist Church and was a Mason for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Jean Works of Jefferson, TX; three daughters, Theresa Harper (Kenneth) of Forney, TX, Carol Dunn (Clifton) of Forney, TX, Pamela Cranfill (Eddie) of Gun Barrell, TX; two brothers, Robbie Works (Mary) of Longview, TX, Dewey Works (Pam) of Carthage, TX; four sisters, Judy Cato of Linden, TX, Pat Pellam (Marin) of Tatum, TX, Phyllis Capps (Mike) of Carthage, TX, Sally Woods (John) of Tatum, TX; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loyal and Emma Works; daughter, Christie Louise Sarrett; son, Edward Paul Burnett; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Frieda Joyce and Everett Dennis, Rene and Tommy Young and two brothers, Johnny Lynn Works and Danny Works.

He will be available for viewing from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
