Funeral services for Mr. James Coy Fisher, Jr., age 64, of Arlington, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.  Mr. Fisher will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.

James Coy Fisher. (J.C.) started his life journey on July 9, 1958 in Upshur County, Texas.  He was the much loved oldest son of James Coy Sr. and Zetha Mae Stern Fisher.  James graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Texas in 1978.  He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

James met and married the love of his life, Sandra Bailey on December 22, 1982.  He became the father of 4 beautiful children.  He became a long haul truck driver and retired after 37 years.  James then began and continued a career in security work for 8 years until his passing.

Preceding James in death was his parents and a brother, Joseph Samuel Fisher. James leaves his cherished memories and survived by his wife, Sandra Bailey Fisher of Longview; his 4 children, Donny LaMarcus Bailey (Latoya Rashawn Bailey) LaCretia Danetta Fisher, LaShunte Bornes (Kurtron Bornes) and James Lavonte’ Fisher; 8 grandchildren, Jeremiah Xavier Bailey, Jayden D’Vaughn Bailey, Jordan Quivonte’ Malone, Kaiman James Flowers; Layla Jai Wallace, Jace Amir Kenney, Jaxx Kade Bornes and Jade Dior Fisher; 4 siblings, Gloria Douglas (Daingerfield, TX) Michael & Ella Fisher (Mesquite, TX), Verta Ruth Brown (Arlington, TX) and Mary Fisher (Tyler, TX).
