James "Jim" Henry Scherder, age 75, passed away suddenly on September 19, 2020.  Jim was born on January 27, 1945 in Covington, KY to Evelyn and Henry Scherder.  At the age of 18, Jim joined the United States Marine Corp and proudly served his country for four years and stayed a proud Marine through his life.  After the Corp, he became a truck driver and continued to serve his country as a trucker for the next 40 plus years.  He loved to work on his land and had a zest for life like no other.  He always had a joke to tell and he never lacked a partner on the dance floor.  It will be most expected for him to be met at the pearly gates by his Mother saying, "Oh you Damn Fool".

He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Henry Scherder.  He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Clarice; his children, Ryan Scherder and wife Stacy, daughter Meghan Olson, Chris Parker and wife Angie, and daughter Lisa Parker.  He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Donna Flick, Kathy and Bob Hutchison, Tom and Laney Scherder, Marilyn and Fred Russell, Karen Scherder, Debbie and Joe Broughton, Kenny Scherder, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2020 at New Colony Baptist Church with Bro. Claude Crocker officiating.  Burial to follow in the Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.

Guestbook

  1. Dear Uncle Jim,
Rest In Peace. I haven’t seen you in many years but you will always be my Uncle Jim. A mountain of a man who had gave the best hugs and always had a big smile. Ryan and Stacey I love you with all my heart. Tara

  2. Clarice, I hope you know and feel you are surrounded by many friends and much love. I was deeply saddened to learn of Jim’s sudden passing. Gabby and I shared many wonderful times with you and Jim. I have laughed often (and at times cried) over the years. Those were the good old days! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
