James Walter Griffin

Funeral services for James Walter Griffin, 83, of Hughes Springs, will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12 at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs with Bro. Scott Darby officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta. James was born June 29, 1930 in Morris County and passed away December 8, 2013 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; three brothers; and one sister. He is survived by two sons, David Griffin and wife Karan, of Weimar, TX, and Paul Griffin and wife Lisa, of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Linda Gail Bailey and husband Steve, of Wake Village, Mary Susan Griffin and husband Lonnie, of Queen City, and Teresa Jo Dixon and husband Royce, of Texarkana, AR; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great-great granddaughters; and a special friend, Mary Phillips.
