LINDEN Jane Hicks, 90, of Linden, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 in a Linden hospital. Mrs. Hicks was born July 11, 1922 in Cornett, Texas, to William Harm and Margie Esther Vaughan Powell. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Linden. She was married to J.W. Hicks for 62 1/2 years. Survivors include a daughter, Pearlee Wells of Linden; four sons and three daughters-in law, Jimmy and Judy Hicks of Maud, Larry and Pat Hicks of Midland, Lonny Hicks of Linden, and Curtis and Mary Lou Hicks of Naples; 15 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter; Paula Hicks Romanelli; two great grandsons, Chase and Kolton; five sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Linden with Bro. Jackie Stanfield and Lonny Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Creekmore Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Renovation Fund, P.O. Box 179, Linden, TX 75563 or Creekmore Cemetery Fund.
