LINDEN Funeral services for Mina Jean Salmon, 81, of Linden will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday May 25, 2010 at Linden United Methodist Church with Bro. Mark McClanahan officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, Inc. A visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Salmon was born in Kildare, Texas to Curtis Miles and Virgie Echols Whatley on November 5, 1928. She passed away in a Longview hospital, Saturday, May 22, 2010. Mrs. Salmon was a sales manager for Field Enterprise Educational Preparation, was a member of Linden Chapter 576 Order of the Eastern Star, and Linden United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Robert Salmon of Linden and James Salmon of Houston; two brothers, Jerry Don Whatley of Atlanta and Hershell Whatley of Kildare; two granddaughters, Sarah Salmon of Linden and Lani Riggs of Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Kane and Ryan Riggs of Kentucky; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Salmon, her parents, three brothers and a sister.
