Jean Tanner

August 18, 1930 ~ January 10, 2016
Mrs. Dejuana Jean Reneau Tanner, age 85, passed away Sunday morning, January 10, 2016, at the home of her son in Cantonment, Florida. Mrs. Tanner was born in Arkansas on August 18, 1930. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Carroll and Rosa Adams Reneau, her sisters Florence Cannon and Barbara Glover, and a brother James Carroll Reneau. She is survived by four children, Joy Diane Tanner Clark and husband Mark Clark of Waco, Larry Cecil Tanner and wife Julie of Henderson, Paul Archie Tanner and wife Tammy of Ore City, Kelly Dean Tanner and wife Sharon of Cantonment, Florida. She enjoyed ten grandchildren, Daniel Clark, Matthew Clark and wife Sydnee, Eric Tanner and wife Jill, Nicholas Tanner and wife Carmie, Jacob Tanner, Heather Tanner, Aron Tanner and wife Cody, Michael Tanner and wife Jennifer, Justin Tanner and wife Katrina, and Amanda Tanner. She had five great-grandchildren, Daniel Clark, Jr., Jasmine Clark, Ryan Tanner, Clay Tanner, and Willow Tanner. Mrs. Tanner is also survived by a sister Linda Ardoin and husband M.J., brothers Wayne Reneau, and Ron Reneau and wife Sylia, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Mrs. Tanner attended first grade at New London School where she survived the New London School Blast. She graduated from Arp High School and attended Tyler Junior College. Formerly, she was a member of the Rainbow Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star where she served in several positions, including Worthy Matron. While her children were attending Ore City schools, she was a room mother and member of the PTA. She had been a member of the Ore City Garden Club, and most recently a member of the Ore City Lions Club. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ore City, where she had been a member of the choir and a Sunday School teacher.
The family invites friends and neighbors to the visitation 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City, Texas and the funeral services at First United Methodist Church of Ore City at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Burial will be next to her husband in Ore City Cemetery.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
