Jeannie Dyess

Services for Ms. Jeannie Dyess, 80, of Hughes Springs, will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Turkey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Jeannie LaMerle Rhodes Dyess was born September 15, 1941 in Doyline, Louisiana to Horace and Marie Rhodes. She passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on February 8, 2022. Jeannie loved her Lord and always had a smile on her face at church. She was happiest spending time with her family. She enjoyed chocolate and a Diet Coke, and being harassed by her sons-in-law who, lovingly, called Merly Girl".
Jeannie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dyess, Sr.; her parents; son, Randy Dyess; brothers, Randy Rhodes and Reggie Rhodes; sister, Patsy Dillard; daughter-in-law, Teresa Dyess; and grandsons, Christopher and William.
She is survived by seven children, Russell Harville of Virginia, Jana Jourden of Smyer, Texas, Bill Dyess, Jr. of Hughes Spring, Lisa Cook and husband Roger of Marietta, Marty Dyess and wife Jemme Lynn of Cleburne, Texas, Jerry Dyess of Longview, Donna Cook and husband Rusty of Glenpool, Oklahoma; brother, Joel Rhodes and wife LaFaune of Doyline, Louisiana; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gosh I’m going to miss you mamaw. My finest summer memories were with you and Chris and Jason playing in the park across from your house. We loved spending the summers with you. You will be dearly missed. Love you so much.💗

Ohhhhh Aunt Jeannie. Where do I even begin or end. I have so many fond memories of you. So many memories from a child and a grown up also. I love you very much. Oh what a reunion you all must be having now. Rest In Peace. Until we meet again. Just across on the other side. My condolences to my cousins. May you all be comforted by the loving arms of Jesus!
