Jerry Anderson

Jerry L. Anderson, 81, of Linden, TX gained his wings and went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2022.
Jerry was born on January 7, 1941, in Linden, TX to Virgil and Euna Surratt Anderson.
Jerry graduated from school and soon after joined the Army. In October of 1969 after serving in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged and moved back home to Linden where he sought a career at U.S. Steel, in Lone Star, TX.
After many years of service, Jerry retired from U.S. Steel. In the years of his retirement, he loved spending time visiting with family, taking care of his horses, goats, and pet rabbit, as well as lending a hand at Surratt’s Motor Company.
Jerry was an avid Christian who loved to share the word of the Lord with others and was a member of the Cass County Cowboy Church in Atlanta, TX. He found great joy in getting dressed in his Sunday best, joining the services, and congregating with the other members of the church each week.
Jerry is survived by his nephews; Sammy Wilbanks (Cindy), Brad Anderson (Lauri), and Collin Anderson (Melanie); nieces, Kay Kelley (Don), Brenda Burkhalter (Danny), and Allison Rowe (Kenny); great nieces, Samantha, Laurah, Kathryn, Lori and Christy; great nephews, Justin, Jacky, Neal, Daniel, Larry Wayne, Matthew, Kathryn, Stephen and Micah as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Anderson; mother, Euna Surrat Anderson; sisters, Wilma Anderson and Mozelle Wilbanks (O’Neal); and brothers, Audrey Anderson, and Leon Anderson.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Center Grove Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden. Brother John Givens will be officiating.
