Mr. Crowston was born May 31, 1942, in Deport, Texas, to R.D. Crowston and Edith Cleyon Burks. He passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.
In his younger years, Mr. Crowston worked as a truck driver, later dedicating many years to the oil field industry. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and service to others. Known for his outgoing nature and ever-present smile, Mr. Crowston never met a stranger. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, embodying warmth and generosity in every interaction.
In his free time, he found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. His true passion, however, was carpentry and woodworking, where he poured his heart into every project, crafting pieces that reflected his care and skill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. Crowston and Edith Cleyon Burks; sister, Edith Crowston; brother, Bill Crowston; granddaughter, Amy DeNice Larson.
He is survived by daughters, Teresa Hill (Roy), and Kimberly Jones (Nolan); son, Tony Crowston (Jennifer); grandchildren: Dillon Hill, Shannon Hill (Danny), Westley Jones (Tonya), Zackery Jones (Maribel), Hayleigh Crowston; great-grandchildren: Shawn Robinson, Shane Robinson, Seth Robinson, Savannah Robinson, Lucas Jones, and Adam Jones; mother of his children and love of his life, Linda Reynolds; sister, Anna Lee Fail; special friends, Charles “Chuck” White and Robert Kizer; several nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff of Capstone Healthcare and Heart to Heart Hospice for the love and compassion they showed to Mr. Crowston in his final days.
Mr. Crowston’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, inspired by his kindness, his laughter, and the craftsmanship of his hands.
