Funeral services for Jo Nell Watkins, 81, of Hughes Springs, will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Dan McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Dennis Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 5 until 7 Friday evening at the funeral home. Jo Nell Watkins was born December 9, 1932 in Hughes Springs and passed away December 31, 2013 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Wayne Watkins; her mother Nellie Hines; her father, Raymond Hines; and one son, Billy Neal Watkins. She is survived by four sons, Raymond Wayne Watkins and wife Dana, Joe Watkins and wife Donna, Raymond DeeWayne Watkins, and H.E. Watkins and wife Stacey; two daughters, Wanda Watkins-Smith, and Novella Jo Huddleston and husband Bobby; one brother, Royce Hines Spookus and wife Kathrine; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

  1. Danny and I are so sorry for your loss. I have heard stories my entire life from mother of Jonelle and mother riding the bus together and just them as kids growing up together.
