LINDEN-Joan Pauline Witherington, 75, of Linden, passed away December 25, 2012 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was born January 13, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama, to John and Pauline Lowery Cheeseman. She was a retired NICU nurse for Civil Service and a member of Linden United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years John Witherington of Linden; two daughters, Denise Williams of Linden and Nita Polovchena and husband, Walt, of Rock Hill, SC; a son, Todd Witherington and wife, Grace of Austin; a brother, John Cheeseman; six grandchildren, Mike Villanueva and wife, Becky, of Rock Hill, SC; Brandy Goff and husband, Mike, of Columbus, GA; Kristy Richards of Florida; Jamie Polovchena of Florida; Trisha Witherington of Crowley, LA; Ross Williams of Fouke AR; Darreyl Witherington and wife, Jessica of Rock Hill, SC; Jennifer Witherington of Rock Hill, SC; and Garrett Williams and wife, Kayla of Ruston, LA; also, many great grandchildren, other family members and a host of friends also survive. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 At Linden United Methodist church with Rev. James McMillen officiating. Interment will be in Linden Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
