Mrs. Joann Hamilton Fields was born April 3, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to L.T. Hamilton and Ola Mae Hamilton and attended Booker T. Washington and devoted her life to serving others. She was an employee of Pilgrims Pride, Titus Regional, and Texas Department of Health and Human Services. At an early age, Joann united with the Church of the Living God, Sunrise, Texas and later became a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses where she served Jehovah throughout the rest of her life. Joann had a great love of Jehovah, her family, and friends. She never met a stranger and never turned anyone away. The worried, tired, sick, sad, or lonely all knew that Mrs. Joann didnt have much but she helped all that she could and often made you laugh even when you deemed defeated. On May 23, 2015, surrounded by children and grandchildren, Jehovah called Joann into His everlasting light, she answered. She is preceded in death by her parents, L.T. Hamilton and Ola Mae Hamilton; husband, Eugene Isaac Fields; siblings, Bill Hamilton, Sr., Rev. Digie Hamilton, Bobbie McGill, Lennie Hamilton, and Bennie Hamilton; daughters, Melinda Hamilton Stewart and Regina Fields; son, Ronnie Gene Hamilton; and niece Latoya Teka Johnson. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Gayleen Hamilton Jernigan of Daingerfield and Twalla Fields of Seattle, WA; two sons, Keith Fields and Rodrick Fields (Doneshia) all of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Sherry Ann Brewer (Rick) of Mt. Pleasant and Trina Hamilton of Flint, MI; brothers, Ricky Hamilton of McKenzie Park, IL, and Donnie Hamilton of Chicago, IL; nieces, Ashley Brewer and Jasmine Jeffrey; nephew, Willie James Johnson III; grandchildren, Shalesa, Karmisha, Shanora, Travis, Kendrick, Dontavious, Regina, Keith Fields, Jr., Sharkeitha, Sekeitha, Kaderias, Keylan, Ebbony, Diarra, and Joy; great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Civic Center. Burial will follow at Blundus Creek Cemetery in Monticello under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. Mrs. Fields will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
