Joe D. Stephens

joe stephens

Joe Stephens. A true man among men, walked with a rare strength and character.  Deeply loved by his circle of personal friends.  He shared his talents and gifts without reservation.

A traditional family man he led by example teaching honesty, integrity and love.  There are no words to express the devotion and love he held for his bride of 37 years.  When she went to the Lord he stayed by her side.  For the past five years, every Saturday morning he could be seen sitting with her for the morning.  They celebrated every birthday, holiday, and anniversary together with him sitting at her final resting place and her watching from above.

To our great sorrow, at life’s end and lonely for his Annette, he has left us to mourn his passing. But now we choose to celebrate his life. To our greatest joy we know he is ecstatic to be forever united in heaven with the love of his life.  We raise him up in prayer and ask God to take him up with love, wipe away his pain and see us through our sorrow.

Joe was born December 14, 1936 and passed away November 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Stephens; parents, Rual O'dell and Mary Carter; brothers, Carroll Stephens, Bob Stephens, and Johnny Stephens.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Kelley and husband Kelly, Jeff Stephens and wife Shawn, Joanna McGarry and husband Justin; grandchildren, Mcxie Hurst and husband Brian, Mandi Smith, Kara Barnett and husband Keith, Jaclyn Royer and husband Matt, Levi McGarry and Emily McGarry; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Patsy Whiteside.
