Services for John “Jack” Hasler, 94, of Marshall will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Reeder-Davis Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and lasting until service time.

Mr. Hasler was born May 20, 1922 and passed away May 6, 2017. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and also served in the National Guard. Jack retired from Lone Star Steel, where he worked as a brick mason. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Young; sister, Mary Margaret Hasler; and daughter-in-law,   Bobbie Nell Franks.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Hasler of Marshall; eleven children, Lynette O’Conor and husband, Tom of Marshall, Marion Hudspeth and husband, Milton of Zavola, Tx., Greg Franks and wife, Charlene of Marshall, Larry Hasler and wife, Karen of Shasta Lake, Ca., Angie Hasler and spouse, Steve Cole of Stuart, Fl., Kathy Mitchell and husband, Billy of Lone Star, John Hasler and wife, Gloria of Marshall, Mike Hasler and wife, Debbie of Marshall, Khris McTyre of Lindale, Clara Searcy and husband, Tommy of Pittsburg, Tony Hasler and wife, Kellie of Diana; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Our deepest condolences from my family to yours, I only met your father a few times, our home phone would ring, their telephone number there in Lone Star , This went on for days, So we were had long conversations over the failing grid of society. He and your mother seemed great people. Again sorry for your loss..

  4. Sending condolences and MANY prayers to all for your loss. Mr. Jack was such a quiet and gentle and kind man who was a great friend to my father "back in the day". I had the opportunity to visit with him and Miss Georgia a few years back at Reunion Inn and I so enjoyed it. I was honored to give him a picture that my parents had from Jack’s time in the Navy from San Francisco when he was "just a kid"’ as he said. I felt as though this belonged to your family..Many great memories out on 1998—-fresh cow milk and a REAL outhouse!!! I will forever treasure them.
