Funeral services for Mr. John Samuel Crane, 78, of Hughes Springs, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, at Hughes Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the funeral home.
Mr. Crane passed Thursday, January 8, 2026, at home in Hughes Springs.

Coach Crane was good coach and it wasn’t until after I stop playing at LK, that I learned to appreciate him as a coach. I wasn’t his best player or even his favorite player but I’m thankful for the foot prints he left in my life. I’ve been coaching for over 35 years as a youth and high school coach and he was one of the reasons I started coaching. May you rest in peace Coach Crane 🙏🏾🏀💪🏾
David and I send our prayers that God wrap his arms around you to provide peace and comfort in this time of sorrow. We have fond memories of John while we were at Pewitt. He was a fine man whose influence on young people’s lives is part of his legacy. RIP John!
