Johnnie Black

Funeral services for Johnnie "Pete" Black, 89, of Leesburg, will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Reeder-Davis Chapel, with Bro. Les Colley officiating. Burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 6 until 8 Friday evening at the funeral home. Pete was born September 29, 1923 and passed away April 1, 2013 at a Tyler hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers; three sisters; one daughter, Deborah Hodge; and one son, Derryl Black. Survivors include one daughter, Martha Handford, of Leesburg; two sons, John "Mike" Black and wife Linda, of Snohomish, Washington, and Darwin Black, of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Scout Handford, Sunshine Guess, Jared, Tina, and Aaron Black, Robin Hodge, and Justin Dargen; six great grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister Edna Williams, of Hughes Springs.
