Judy Neese

Judith Irene Pulis Neese, 76, died Monday, May 16, 2022 in Benbrook, TX. She was born June 10, 1945, the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Harley Pulis in Worland, Wyoming. At age 2 the family moved from Manderson, Wyoming to Thermopolis, Wyoming where she lived until graduating from high school in 1963. She graduated from Rockmont College in Longmont, Colorado in 1967, where she was fondly nicknamed “Giggles” by her friends. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1970. She married Eddie Ray Neese June 20, 1969 in Thermopolis Wyoming. They served in pastorates in Texas, and in Lewistown and Great Falls, Montana before serving as foreign missionaries in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. After returning to the US they continued pastoring in East Texas until 2006, when they retired and moved to Benbrook, Texas.

Some of her most fond memories from childhood were spending summers at Camp Bethel in the Big Horn Mountains and at the family ranch in Wilsall, Montana. As a minister’s wife she played the piano and organ for church services, directed children's choirs, taught piano lessons, led Bible Study groups, talked and prayed with people who were hurting. She loved Jesus so much and wanted everyone to know Him. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother brought her so much joy. She was a great listener to the friends and family members in her life, and took to heart what was in their hearts. The details in their lives mattered to her. She prayed faithfully for everyone in her life, and selflessly cared about and encouraged each person who came in contact with her, even through the intense chronic pain that was continually present in her body for her final 20 years of life. She is remembered fondly for her ready smile.

Judy is survived by daughter Brenda and husband Mark Snider; son David Neese and wife Carrie, son Jonathan Neese; 9 grandchildren, Taylor, Kenaniah, and Elijah Snider, Adam, Matthew and Jacob Neese, Andrew, Brianna, and Elissa Neese; and sister Beverly Pulis McDaniel and husband Larry. She is preceded in death by infant sister Joyce Marie Pulis in 1943; father Reverend Harley M. Pulis in 1986; mother Mary Etta Peek Pulis in 2001; and husband Eddie Ray Neese in 2013.

Services for Judy Neese will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at Bear Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.  There will be a time of visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Guestbook

  1. Judy was the sweetest angel I have ever known & will be missed dearly. I'm so very sorry for your loss and am thinking of all of you, Brenda, David & Jonathan.

  2. Judy was more like an aunt to me than a first cousin, since my mother lived with Aunt Mary and Uncle Harley and claimed to help raise Judy as a baby. I know ai could always count on Judy to show me unconditional love. I admire the ministries they were involved in and how they made sacrifices to let others know about Jesus. There is no doubt when Judy saw Jesus, she was told , Well done thy good and faithful servant.
Even through her pain during the past few years, she took the time to talk with me. I will forever be grateful to have been blessed by this precious soul!

  3. Brenda, David, and Jonathan
I was blessed and honored to attend church at the Talty Mission. Your Mom was absolutely the sweetest woman I ever knew. I also worked at Piggly Wiggly in Linden when I was in high school and knew the Neese family. There was a great rejoicing when you Mother met her savior and your Dad again. I am sure God said well done my good and faithful servant. May God give you comfort in this time of sorrow. But praise God she is in her eternal home.

Mrs. Neese obviously impacted many lives while she was here on earth and I know she will be missed. Prayer for her entire family. What a wonderful life she lived!
