June Wiley

June A. Wiley (nee Swartz), born Oct 14, 1933 to Willis and Grace Swartz (nee Crawford), as the oldest of three girls, (June, Janet, and Barbara). June grew up around York, PA and graduated from Manchester High School in 1951. She then attended York Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating in 1954, she moved to Cleveland, OH to work for University Hospital and married Emmett H. Wiley on July 9,1955.

In 1963, they moved, with their three children to Chesterland, Ohio. While living in Chesterland, she was very active with the Perennial Gardeners Club and the West Geauga High School Band Aides. In the 1970’s she returned to nursing at the private practice of Dr. Shigeki Hayashi.

She had many dear friends and “extended families” that she stayed close to until her death.  After retirement, she and Emmett would winter in Linden, TX (his hometown) where she found new friends and became active with the Native Plant Society. After his passing, she moved to Marshall, TX, to be close to Leonard and his family. She passed away in her Marshall home on November 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett H. Wiley and sister, Janet Zeigler and is survived by her sister, Barbara Rohrbaugh, her three children Alicia Lekas (Tony), Leonard (Betty nee Hallman), and Sam (Cindy nee Rentz), seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Emmett Hamilton Wiley, at Center Grove Cemetery at a later date, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Linden.
