Funeral services for Kathleen Beard Hall, 81, of Ore City, will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Hughes Springs Church of Christ with Johnnie Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs. There will be a time of visitation from 5 until 8, Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Kathleen was born July 29, 1932 and passed away October 6, 2013 at her home. She worked at Catfish Village for 15 years. She loved working in her yard and had some beautiful flower beds. On the weekends she and her husband loved, more than anything, to go fishing and camping. They spent a lot of time on Wright Patman Lake (Kelly Creek) and she could always tell you where to catch a fish. Kathleen loved everyone with her whole heart and she never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dayton Orville Beard and Pauline Louise Beard; one brother, Bruce Beard; one sister, Bonnie Raye Wood; and one son, Orville Lee Duncan. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John Rowan Hall; one daughter, Claudia Watkins and husband Lewis, of Hughes Springs; one son, Aldine A. Ellis, of Ore City; two brothers, David Beard and wife Margie, and Jerry Beard, all of Ore City; two sisters, Margie Sullivan and husband Martin, and Lynda Ann Davis and husband Billy Paul, all of Ore City; grandchildren, Bruce Beekman and wife Tammie, of Longview, Tracy Beekman, of Dallas, Lisa Strickland and husband Shannon, of Hughes Springs, Robert Duncan and wife Kasey, of Napavine, WA, and Alana Duncan, of Klamath Falls, Oregon; she had 15 great grandchildren , who the thought of as her own children; four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

  3. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I passed by your mother house about a month ago and wondered how your mom and dad were doing. Wish I would have stopped. Next time I'm home I will try to come by. My mother lives in Hughes springs

  5. Kathleen is finally resting and enjoying a family and friend reunion. I know her and Bonnie are talking about fishing and family and catching up.

  6. I'm so very sorry that I didn't write in your guestbook sooner. I thought of you often and wished that I had kept in contact with you over the years. In the time that I knew you, you taught me a lot. I feel blessed to have been in your life. You were a special woman and I hope that you are resting easy. Thank you for taking care of my dear daughter Lisa through the years.
