Latrica Rena Oliver, known as “Bay Bay” to those who knew her best, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2026, at her home in Lancaster, TX. She was born January 18, 1980, to Billy and Pearlie Oliver.
Latrica was a member of Gum Springs CME Church in Douglassville, TX, where she served as an active choir member for many years until relocating.
Because of her love for the elderly, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and took great pride in her work. Later, she discovered her true passion for children and pursued higher education at Ashford University. There, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, followed by her Master’s degree in 2022.
Latrica was outgoing, straightforward, and known for her generosity. She looked out for people and never hesitated to help someone she felt was in need. She was one of a kind, original in how she carried herself, firm in her beliefs, and consistent in how she showed up for the people she cared about.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Casyn Malachi Oliver, and her father, Billy Rogers Oliver Sr.
She is survived by her son, Zakyus Jackson; her mother, Pearlie Oliver; and her siblings: Eddie Dickerson (Jacquel), Tracie Robertson, Rodney Robertson, Shannon Hodge, Katrina Davis (Anthony), Billy Oliver Jr. (Katrina, Phillip Walker, Sr., and Adrian Oliver (Tammy). She also leaves behind her god-daughter, Disley Posely and family; her god-son, Demarco McNealy; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends Dee Dee, Patricia, Stephanie, and Taleda.
You are forever in our hearts.
