LaVonne Biddy

lavonne biddy

In the arms of an angel, our precious “Nanny” left this earthly home on Sunday, October 8. Her courageous battle with painful long term illness came to an end with her 4 daughters by her side. She is now strolling over heaven with all things new. LaVonne was born in Houston on August 9, 1931 and just celebrated her 75th birthday. At age 16, she was married to her first sweetheart, Joe Biddy of Avinger. They spent 50 years accumulating friends of all ages and were loved by everyone in town. LaVonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was happy to be the local Avon lady for over 25 years. Her kindness touched everyone she met. Her many friends in Avinger will miss her sweet smile. She is survived by her 4 daughters and their families, Mickey and Larry Junell, Debbie Fields, Cheryl and Brian Pulley, and Susan and Adam Stone all of the Dallas area. Nanny was richly blessed with 10 grandchildren, Brandy, Casey and Dustin Junell, Ken Fields and his wife, Christina, Angela Fields, Zachary, Brianne, and Brooke Pulley, Lindsey and Kaitlyn Stone. God also blessed her with 4 great-grandchildren, Preston, Madison, and Kennedy Fields and Presley Junell. She was the precious aunt to 29 nieces and nephews and loved dearly by the entire Biddy family. She had traced their geneology back to the 1600’s. LaVonne is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joe Biddy and her sister, Maxine Henley. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Avinger on Wednesday, October 11 at 3:00 p.m with Bro. Danny Biddy and Bro. Wilmer Biddy officiating. Family visitation will be at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs on Tuesday, October 10 from 6-9 p.m. The family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Avinger or the Avinger Cemetery Fund.

  6. I am so sorry I was away when my dear friend LaVonne passed away and I never got work until I returned home today which is the fault of no one just one of those things.I served the Lord with her at FBC Avinger, I camped with her at Lake o The Pines, I visited with her many times and had many wonderful menories from those visits. LaVonne was all the memorial said about her and more. She loved people and people love her. I felt like a sister to her and her to me. I'm sorry Mickey, Debbie, Cheryl, and Susan that I was away and not there for you when she left this world to be with her Lord and Savior. Take comfort in knowing she is with the Lord and does not have to suffer anymore and is reunited with many who have gone before, especially her loving husband Joe. My love and prayers are with you as you go through this time of sorrow.Shirley Wilson

  7. We have your family in our thoughts and our prayers. We were all very fortunate to have known Mrs. Biddy and to have her be part of our lives. A special thought and love from Michael to one of my best friends…Mickey.
